Snow Camp 2026 – New Skills and New Opportunities

We’re proud to see Hideaway featured by the Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit (VRU), highlighting the fantastic achievements of our young people at Snow Camp 2026.

‍

Ten young people aged 17–19 took part in the two-day programme, where they had the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and learn a completely new skill – choosing either skiing or snowboarding.

‍

Supported by Snow Camp volunteers and youth workers from Hideaway, the young people spent two action-packed days developing their skills on the slopes. Alongside the sporting activities, the programme also gave them the opportunity to explore wellbeing and its importance in their everyday lives.

‍

Throughout the experience, the group developed confidence, resilience and teamwork while challenging themselves in a new environment.

‍

We’re delighted that all ten young people successfully completed the programme and received certificates recognising their progress and achievements. The experience could also open further opportunities, including work experience and apprenticeships.

‍

A huge well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to Snow Camp and the Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit for helping to create opportunities like this for young people.

‍

We’re also really pleased to see the work of Hideaway and our young people recognised and shared across Greater Manchester.
