In Our Words

In Our Words is a creative initiative that brings together young people and community members from Moss Side and Hulme to explore social justice issues through artistic expression. With four projects hosted annually, this project—developed in partnership with Odd Arts and Powerhouse—offers a unique opportunity to address important topics and spark conversation through art.

The Hideaway Podcast

The Hideaway Podcast gives young people the opportunity to create and run their own podcast.

Our young people interview peers, staff, community members, and organisations, discussing a range of topics relevant to youth culture, current events, and anything young people want to talk about! In addition to the podcast, young people get involved in producing video content for social media platforms.

Youth Ambassadors

The Youth Ambassador Project empowers young people to represent their peers and gather their opinions on a variety of issues. This provides young people with the opportunity to influence decision-making, promote youth engagement, and ensure their views are acted upon.

Research and development driven by young people, for young people.

Our Youth Ambassadors explore and research important social issues that impact their lives and the wider community including barriers to employment, social justice, and youth engagement. They are directly involved in all aspects of the research process—from designing surveys and questionnaires, to conducting interviews, analysing data, and presenting their findings.

They work closely with Hideaway staff to ensure that the research reflects the voices and concerns of their peers, and that the insights gained can be used to improve the services and opportunities available to young people.
